💠 — the art

The 65-piece collection of unique motifs are inspired by Anatolian art from Turkey’s ancient history. Designs that are simultaneously complex and intricate, yet simple enough to be tesselated and repeated in tiling decorative patterns, are a commonplace in Turkish culture.

The Future Museum enables the recording of these cultural assets on the blockchain through NFTs. The goal of the Future Museum is to integrate traditional archiving, documentation, and classification into web3.

As a special edition release of this collection, we distributed 65 boxes filled with a unique stone tile, corresponding to each NFT, and a Future Museum hoodie.

A message from the artist

Hi! I’m Taha. I’m a designer from Istanbul. My interest in the world of art and design has been present since my childhood. My passion for art and design has inspired my progression in a career in graphic design. Engaging in a creative process and transforming ideas into powerful visual messages is something that truly entertains me.

🧿 — Devconnect: Istanbul

A truly remarkable story (the full details for another time) led us to setting up store in ETHGlobal’s hackathon space at Istanbul. There we distributed the 65 boxes with a unique stone tile that corresponds to each of the 65 NFTs, and a hoodie for each person. We asked each person to send a n on-chain donation to the artist, Taha. We would then use that donating wallet address to send the NFT once they have been minted.

The whole process was a great success with a lot of excitement and multiple queues of people forming. In the weeks following, we were tasked with collecting the wallet addresses and donations from all those that took a box. Sadly, it was not as easy as expected and a large portion of those that took the boxes and the unique tiles did not reply to messages or send the donations.

We have delayed the launch of the NFT until we can correctly handle this concern of collecting the funds from those people, or until we can devise a new distribution method for the art.

For those that did donate when asked, and are still waiting for their NFT to be minted, we will compensate them for their time and patience by giving the a free Microbes NFT, worth 0.088ETH when minted.

🎯 — Roadmap

Moving forward into the new year, we aim to follow this proposed roadmap:

Early Feb — send the Microbes NFT to all those that have already sent out their donations

Mid Feb — Announce the launch date of the NFT collection

End of Feb — Launch the NFT collection and distribute to the holders of the stone tablets

March Onwards — Support Taha in his next artistic endeavours and distribute more on-chain culture
